Carel Wesley Titkemeyer, 77, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 3:22 AM, Friday, September 22nd, 2017 at The Waters of Rising Sun. Carel was born in Ohio County, IN on July 22, 1940, a son of the late Juanita (Buchanan) and Ernest H. Titkemeyer. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1958. Carel served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an accounting clerk at Monsanto in Cincinnati, OH, retiring in 1993. Carel was also a licensed barber and had worked at a few area barber shops earlier in life. He was a faithful member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ and was Bible School Secretary for over 20 years. Carel married Carolyn (Feustel) Titkemeyer on December 19th, 1970 at the Lawrenceburg Church of Christ. Carel and Carolyn were married over 46 years. Carel was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed going to ball games at the high school. He was also a former little league coach and league bowler. He and Carolyn liked to go square dancing at one time and they loved to travel.

Carel is survived by his devoted and caring wife, Carolyn Titkemeyer, of Rising Sun, IN; by two sons, Steve Titkemeyer and wife Nicola, of Brandywine, MD and David Titkemeyer and wife Danielle, of Rising Sun, IN; by grandchildren, Joshua, Megan, Nicolas, Quinn, Ethan and Elaina; by a sister, LuAnn White, of Rising Sun, IN; by a niece, Stacie McCarty and nephew, Jeremy White. Carel was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother-in-law Myrle White.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Saturday, September 30th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Brother Nathan Pelehowski officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Rising Sun Church of Christ Building Fund, The Waters of Rising Sun Activity Fund or Rising Sun High School Athletic Fund.
